SSS CEO Macasaet signs MoA with DSWD on 4Ps AlkanSSSya program
President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rolando Ledesma Macasaet of the Social Security System (SSS) signed the Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the 4Ps AlkanSSSya initiative, which is tailored for the unique requirements of the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The SSS President and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian affixed their signatures on the MoA for the 4Ps AlkanSSSya program during the ceremonial signing at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City on Monday (July 8).
Senior officials of both agencies bore witness to the event.
The 4Ps AlkanSSSya is a low-cost social insurance program intended for 4Ps beneficiaries.
Based on the MoA between the SSS and DSWD, the SSS will help set up a contribution subsidy table for 4Ps beneficiaries. The table will account for the beneficiaries’ ability to make the monthly contribution of at least P570.
The MoA also covers the roles and responsibilities of the SSS and DWSD in relevant activities for the 4Ps groups, such as seminars and orientations.
In a statement before the ceremonial signing, SSS CEO Macasaet relayed his appreciation for the DSWD’s work in assisting the 4Ps recipients and other vulnerable members of society.
“These families deserve extra financial assistance from the government considering that they belong to the poorest of the poor,” he said. “Today’s MOA signing is a step forwards toward the realization of our common goal of protecting the welfare of the most vulnerable sectors of society.”
CEO Macasaet expressed confidence in the DWSD. Under the leadership of Secretary Gatchalian, the DSWD will streamline the disbursement of benefits to recipients by developing and deploying automated systems for priority frontline services.
“In the same manner, we at the SSS aim to provide these vulnerable sectors with the mechanism to become active members of the SSS and thereby secure their future through the range of SSS benefits,” CEO Macasaet said.
On behalf of the SSS, CEO Macasaet expressed gratitude for the chance to serve the public. He also explained the role that the agency will play in the 4Ps AlkanSSSya program.
“Through our SSS branches, we will facilitate the registration and orientation of these beneficiaries under the Sustainable Livelihood program, under which the 4P participants will be organized so that their SSS membership as voluntary members will be guaranteed,” CEO Macasaet said.
