SSS-GSIS Pensyonado Partylist lauds PBBM appointment of Vince Dizon as DoTR Secretary
The SSS-GSIS Pensyonado (SGP) Partylist on Sunday (February 23) lauded President Marcos’ appointment of Vivencio “Vince” Bringas Dizon as secretary of the Department of Transportation (DoTR).
SGP Partylist 1st Nominee Rolly Ledesma Macasaet said in a statement that Dizon’s appointment to DoTR was the right decision by the chief executive given his sterling track record in public service.
Macasaet said Dizon served as president of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) under the Duterte administration, where the SGP Partylist 1st nominee served as president and general manager of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
“As BCDA president, Vince Dizon facilitated the construction of the Clark Airport as well as the Clark City Athletic stadium where the 2019 SEAGames were held. He isalso an expert on Public Private Partnerships or PPP’s,” Macasaet said.
Under the current Marcos administration, Macasaet also served as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Social Security System (SSS) until his resignation in October 2024 to run for a congressional seat under the SSS-GSIS Pensyonado (SGP) Partylist.
“Vince Dizon has also proven himself as presidential adviser and deputy chief implementer against COVID-19 during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte. He is the right man for the DoTR” Macasaet said.
Dizon has vowed to improve the country’s transport systems and fast-track ongoing projects and those projects that are still in the pipeline.
“Our objective is simple: Speed up and fix our transport systems to make them safer. And importantly, we have to build better and we have to build more. Meaning, we can’t settle for ‘that’s good enough,’” Dizon told Palace reporters after his oathtaking last February 21.
